Pupil Premium
The staff and Governing Body of Patcham Infants School and Nursery Class are committed to ensuring that provision is made which secures the learning and teaching opportunities that meet the needs of all its pupils, to allow them to reach their potential.
We work to ensure inclusion and equal access for all learners. We recognise that the pupil premium is allocated to children from low income families and is a means of addressing some of the issues associated with social disadvantage and in particular, diminishing the difference in achievement and attainment. In making appropriate provision for this we also acknowledge that not all pupils from low income families are socially disadvantaged.
All children at Patcham Infant School now have Universal Free School Meals (UFSM), this is different from being entitled to free school meals and some children may not be eligible for the pupil premium funding.
Pupil premium funding is targeted primarily at:
- Children from low income families
- Children who have been in receipt of free school meals in the last 6 years
- Children who have been looked after continuously for more than 6 months
- Children whose parents are currently serving in the armed forces
From April 2014 this funding extended to children who have been adopted, those on special guardianship orders and those on a residency order.
