Spring Term

Year 2 -

Our Big Question this term is…

10 things I can do to help my world

This week we shared the bright, bold and wonderfully illustrated book, ’10 things I can do to help my world,’ By Melanie Walsh. It has great links to Our City, Our World and everything we do at Patcham Infant School to be changemakers!

Research

In Computing we have been researching different local attractions in Brighton. We used the link below to find out facts and information about many different places including the Volks Railway, the I360, Churchill Square, Brighton Zipwire and Brighton Palace pier. We worked collaboratively to create a presentation to share what we found out.

How to make an apple bird feeder!

In Literacy this week we have been following and writing our own bird feeder instructions.

Here are the birds in action...

Fabulous Finish

Over the past few weeks we have been comparing Brighton, England to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. We have also been learning about the layers of the Amazon Rainforest and the different animals that have chosen it for their habitat.

To celebrate the end of our big question we had a school visit from Reptylers. It was a brilliant experience to handle and find out interesting facts about these scaly cold blooded creatures!
